Hyundai Australia is issuing a voluntary safety recall to address a condition with the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) modules in model year 2015 to 2021 Hyundai Tucson vehicles produced for sale in the Australian market.
The affected vehicles are equipped with ABS modules that could cause an electrical short-circuit over time, which could increase the risk of a fire.
Owners will be asked to bring their vehicles to the nearest Hyundai dealership to address the issue. This procedure will be performed at no charge.
The vehicles are safe to drive and we have had no incidents of fire in Australia related to this Tucson issue. The recall is a precautionary and voluntary measure to ensure the safety of our customers – which is of the utmost importance to Hyundai.
As an added precaution, Hyundai recommends parking these vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed.
If customers have any questions about this voluntary recall, they should phone Hyundai Customer Care on 1800 186 306, visit the Hyundai Australia website or call the Phil Gilbert Hyundai Guest Experience Centre on 9735 8400.
