A warranty that goes the distance: what does it cover?
Picking up a Hyundai in Sydney means picking up the peace-of-mind that you’re about to get the most out of your owning experience. Every vehicle comes with a five-year unlimited kilometre Hyundai warranty - a sign of the confidence that Hyundai has in its technology, materials and workmanship.
In a standard five-year Hyundai warranty, an owner is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, as well as compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. This applies regardless of how many kilometres you have covered, so there’s no need to keep an eye on the odometer.
Hyundai will replace or repair any component that forms part of the original vehicle specification and is supplied and manufactured by Hyundai, if it’s found to be defective due to poor workmanship or materials. This will incur no cost to the owner - but doesn’t apply to tyres and non-genuine accessories.
To ensure the validity of this warranty, the owner must ensure they stick to the recommended maintenance schedule, and must carry out services at an authorised Hyundai Dealer, or by a service provider that complies with the requirements of the warranty.
For additional quality assurance, genuine parts and accessories are also backed by a 12-month warranty.
Standard exclusions that apply
The warranty may become void if the owner doesn’t stick to the recommended Hyundai car service schedule. There are some other standard exclusions that you should be aware of, including:
- Tyres (not covered by Hyundai vehicle warranty, but are covered by the warranties of their manufacturer)
- Vehicles used for commercial applications are excluded
- Defects caused by careless or negligent driving
- Defects caused by the use of non-genuine parts or accessories
- Regular maintenance
